North Plainfield Baptist Church has a long and storied history. We have been ministering in this area for over 85 years. Our church was started in 1929 by a small group of believers who truly loved the Lord and had an uncompromising heart for missions and evangelism. As such, many of the more than 13 missionary families we support now have gone out from among us.
The same passion and commitment of knowing Christ and making Him known that characterized the founders of NPBC continue to characterize us today. Though we have a long history our passion has not weaned. Here you will find a body of believers who truly love the Lord, love others, and strive to live out their faith.
Put simply, what we value is God and people. Stated more fully, at NPBC we value and are committed to:
Our values, along with biblical mandates such as the Great Commission and Great Commandment, have led us to the conviction that NPBC Exists to Bring Glory to God by Making Disciples who:
Love the Lord
Our desire is to help others receive Jesus as their personal Savior and continually grow in knowledge and love for Him. As such we strive to help move people from seekers to believers, and help believers grow in their comprehension, commitment, and conformity to Christ.
We strive to truly care for and connect with one another as we grow together, and learn to better show Christ’s love to others. As such we are intentional about providing opportunities for our members to connect and commune with each other, as well as opportunities to show that we truly care about people.
Live Their Faith
We don’t want to merely talk about what we believe; we want to live it out. Our faith should find its expression in our lives. We strive to live our faith in how we serve, how we sacrifice, and how we share Christ with the world.
